ANTENATAL CARE

Antenatal (Pregnancy) care services offered at Trinity Women’s Specialists include:

  • Comprehensive antenatal (pregnancy) care packages covering consultation, ultrasound scans, and various antenatal (pregnancy) tests; these can be tailored to the individual’s needs
  • Routine antenatal (pregnancy) care: holistic history taking, physical examination, fetal ultrasound scans, and planning for labour
  • Some of the antenatal (pregnancy) tests offered at Trinity Women’s Specialists include:
    • Down syndrome screening tests – OSCAR or Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing
    • Ultrasound scans to confirm and date a pregnancy
    • Antenatal (pregnancy) blood tests for infections (Hepatitis B, HIV, Syphillis, Rubella), and blood grouping
    • Gestational diabetes testing
    • Detailed fetal anatomy scans, including 4D scans
    • Fetal ultrasound scans to monitor fetal growth
    • Group B Streptococcus testing
  • Routine vaccinations recommended during pregnancy:
    • Flu (Influenza) vaccine
    • Whooping cough (Pertussis / Tdap) vaccine
    • RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) vaccine
  • Birth planning
    • Planning for natural labour and delivery
    • Elective (Planned) Caesarean section
  • Pregnancy care for high-risk in-vitro fertilization (IVF) pregnancies, including multiple (Twin) pregnancies
  • Pregnancy care to minimize the risks of pregnancy complications such as:
    • advanced maternal age pregnancies (pregnancies in women over the ages of 35),
    • previous Caesarean sections
    • Gestational diabetes
    • high body mass index (BMI)
    • endometriosis prior to pregnancy
    • fibroids in pregnancy
    • ovarian cysts in pregnancy
  • Co-management of certain high risk pregnancy conditions such as:
    • Multiple (Twin) pregnancies
    • Pre-existing medical conditions
